Aftermath of suicide: First person narratives from the family left behind

Suicide often leaves behind survivors. Parents, children, friends, spouses, coworkers….The list goes on and on. Suicide prevention is a major focus of clinical psychology as it rightfully should be with lives lost across the country every day. However, the wake of suicide…the people left behind…are often the forgotten victims. I hope these videos can express some of the pain, sorrow, and loss experienced by loved ones of suicide completers. I hope that exposure leads to compassion, empathy, and preparation to help the surviving victims of suicide cope with their difficult loss. I also included several resources in helping family members cope with suicide.
